The Daughters of Charity Community Services (DoCCS), located at 9
Henrietta Street, Dublin 1, is a community-based organisation
providing a range of educational, training and social care services
for children, young people and adults living in Dublin?s North Inner
City. Our services are targeted to individuals and families
experiencing socio-economic and educational disadvantage.

1. MANAGER, ST. MARY?S EARLY YEARS? SERVICE

We are seeking a Manager to lead our Early Years? Service, in line
with our vision and mission in the provision of quality services for
families and children in Dublin?s North Inner City.

St. Mary?s Early Years? service is one of the 4 services within
Daughters of Charity Community Services. Located at 9 Henrietta
Street, Dublin 1. We provide a range of educational, training and
social care services for children, young people, adults, and older
people. Our services are targeted to individuals and families in the
North Inner City who are experiencing socio-economic and educational
disadvantage, and social exclusion.

Reporting to the Director of Services, the successful candidate will
have the overall responsibility for the effective operation of St.
Mary?s Early Years? Service in line with organisational,
legislative and statutory requirements.

THE MANAGERS ROLE:

CONTRACT: This is a full time permanent contract, following completion
of a successful probation period.
HOURS OF WORK: The successful candidate will work **Apply on the
website** hours per week. The hours of work are as follows, Monday to
Thursday 9am ? 4pm, Friday 9am ? 2pm.
ANNUAL LEAVE: The annual leave for all staff members of St. Mary?s
Early Years? Service is 1.5 weeks at Easter, the month of August and
2 weeks at Christmas. These are set leave times with 1 additional
leave day to be taken at the discretion of the person.
SALARY: The salary scale based on a FTE of **Apply on the website**

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

_REQUIRED:_

* A relevant third level qualification in the field of Early
Childhood Care & Education (a minimum QQI Level 5 in childcare and
level 7 in a relevant equivalent is required)
* Extensive working knowledge of the relevant legislation and best
practice in relation to managing an Early Years? Service.
* Experience working with organisations that target families
experiencing socio-economic and educational disadvantage.
* A good understanding of the finances needed to operate an Early
Years? Service.
* Experience managing an Early Years? Service or equivalent
service.
* Extensive working knowledge of the relevant legislation and best
practice in relation to managing an Early Years? Service.
* Proven teamwork capabilities.
* Proven track record of developing policies and training staff in
implementation.
* Strong administrative skills with experience in report writing,
completing funder application and making business cases. The person
should have strong skills in the use of excel and word and good
general IT skills.

_DESIRABLE:_

* At least 3 years? experience at a management level in an Early
Years? Service.
* A proven record of achievement in initiating and leading strategic
planning, organisational development and change management,
* Excellent communication skills in relation to interacting with
both staff, children and parents,
* Strong skills in preparation of business plans, service level
agreements and other funder returns,
* Experience in strategic planning process,
* Excellent leadership skills, sound judgement, self-motivation and
strong interpersonal skills,
* Experience in providing staff support and supervision and ensuring
team development,
* The ability to represent the organisation effectively at relevant
forums and in the media.

2. EARLY YEARS? PRACTITIONER, ST. MARY?S EARLY YEARS? SERVICE

THE EYP ROLE:

CONTRACT: The contract for the role will start as soon as possible and

are as follows, Monday to Thursday 9am ? 2pm, Friday 9am ? **Apply

ANNUAL LEAVE: Payment in lieu of annual leave will be paid at the
completion of the contract at a rate of 8% of hours worked due to the
length of the contract.
SALARY: The salary scale based the DoCCS EYP scale and ranges from

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

_ESSENTIAL_

* A relevant third level qualification in the field of Early
Childhood Care & Education (a MINIMUM QQI Level 5 or relevant
equivalent is required)
* A passion for working with young children and their families
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Strong organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple
work tasks and a busy environment
* Experience and training in S?olta & Aistear

_ADVANTAGE_

* Experience working in an Early Years setting: experience of working
in a community-based Early Years? Service would be a distinct
advantage

3. RECEPTIONIST

We are currently looking for a receptionist to support the work of the
Daughters of Charity Community Services. This is a vital role within
the organisation as it is the first point of contact for many
accessing the services. The role supports the operation of all of our
services.

THE RECEPTIONIST ROLE:

CONTRACT: The contract for the role is a permanent contract, following
completion of a successful probation period.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Co-ordinate the reception function?in collaboration with the HR
Manager,?
* Greeting visitors?and staff members in a positive and friendly
manner,
* Ensuring the visitors policy is followed,?
* Maintaining?organisation?security?ensuring those using the
building check in and out,
* Ensuring?meetings are booked?when applicable,
* Answering the phone?promptly and being able to refer queries to
the appropriate people,
* Responding to emails and sending messages internally via email,
* Provide administrative support to the?organisation?which may
include regular administration?tasks?as set out by the HR Manager,
other service Managers or CEO which may include typing letters,
preparing minutes,
* Setting up and maintaining?reception?procedures and systems
that are effective for the?organisation?with the HR Manager,

* Maintaining the reception area and ensuring it a welcoming place
of the highest standard,
* Oversight of ordering and stock management of household and
